RELIGIOUS SCHOOL UPDATE SUMMER 2010

WELCOME TO ALL NEW AND RETURNING FAMILIES:

IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO REGISTER FOR THE 2010/2011 SCHOOL YEAR!

If you are interested in having your child attend our religious school program and have not already registered, please contact our Principal, Iliana Pressman, as soon as possible. We require one registration form per family and one medical form per child, both of which may be found under the “Membership” section on the Temple Shalom website.

All classes will be held at Temple Shalom and are scheduled to begin on Saturday September 25, 2010 (note new date). Judaic classes run on Saturday mornings from 9:45 AM to 12:00 noon. Hebrew classes for Grades 1-7 and up are held Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM and also on Wednesday afternoons from 4:45 PM to 6:15 PM for Grades 4-7.

This year we are offering “Tots Club” for parents with young children on alternate Saturday mornings from 10:45 AM to 12:00 noon. This will be a great way to meet other parents with young children in the community and provide an opportunity for your child to learn about Jewish holidays and customs. For more information about this exciting new initiative, please contact our Principal, Iliana Pressman.

The vision of Temple Shalom Religious School is to create an atmosphere of warmth, excitement and love of Jewish learning for students in Preschool to Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

Through a combination of creative and didactic learning experiences we aim to build a sense of belonging to Temple Shalom and the community in which we live, as well as the broader Reform movement and Israel. The development of skills and knowledge are meant to enable Jewish young people to read Hebrew, participate comfortably and capably in worship services, and master the basic skills required to study Torah, Haftorah and the holy days.
